Harmonious Charities

 

On a monthly basis, the Free Republic of California designates a charity of choice to receive twenty percent of our net proceeds. Our first twelve months of charity beneficiaries are below.

Each organization’s mission parallels critical components of the Free Republic of California’s ideals and Constitution.

“The ACLU dares to create a more perfect union — beyond one person, party, or side. Our mission is to realize this promise of the United States Constitution for all and expand the reach of its guarantees.”

October

The Innocence Project ‘exonerates the wrongly convicted through DNA testing and reforms the criminal justice system to prevent future injustice.’

November

HRW influences governments, policy makers, companies, and individual human rights abusers to denounce abuse and to protect and respect human rights, working on behalf of refugees, children, migrants, and political prisoners across the globe. It was the recipient of the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize.

The NAACP is the pre-eminent civil rights focused organization in the U.S. It aims to secure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights in order to eliminate race-based discrimination and ensure the health and well-being of all persons.

“Habitat for Humanity is a global nonprofit housing organization working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in approximately 70 countries. Habitat’s vision is of a world where everyone has a decent place to live.”

Trevor Project endeavors to end suicide among gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning young people through crisis services, life-affirming resources, education and advocacy.

charity: water is a non-profit organization bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing countries. When a community is provided with clean water, all things change for the better.

Teach For America strives is to "enlist, develop, and mobilize as many as possible of our nation's most promising future leaders to grow and strengthen the movement for educational equity and excellence."

“The National Immigration Law Center envisions a society in which all people — regardless of race, gender, immigration or economic status — are treated fairly and humanely. NILC engages in policy analysis, litigation, education and advocacy, to achieve this vision.”

“Government Accountability Project’s mission is to promote corporate and government accountability by protecting whistleblowers, advancing occupational free speech, and empowering citizen activists.”

The Planetary Society engages in research, public outreach, and advocacy in the fields of astronomy, planetary science, and space exploration. It strives to “to empower the world's citizens to advance space science and exploration.”
